Welcome all Strata-gists to Strata-gee.com. That name – “Strata-gee” – is meant to represent the phonetic spelling and pronunciation of the word “Strategy” – because strategy is what we’re all about here!
Founded in the late 2000’s by me, Ted Green, the goal here is to use my industry experience and knowledge on business and marketing to bring you information, insights, and advice to help you make better, more informed decisions in building a better strategy for your business.
One way we do this is by bringing you powerful stories from around the Tech industry. But wait, you say! Aren’t there already a lot of media groups doing that? Well, not the way Strata-gee does!
Strata-gee is Different in Meaningful Ways
- Strata-gee is fiercely independent…Ted Green owns the proudly and fiercely independent Strata-gee. Most industry trade press have been acquired by non-tech owners, such as trade show or consumer show companies or foreign media groups. We own ourselves and the only master we serve is the reader – our customer and our boss.
- Strata-gee writers are Tech industry practitioners…not journalists. Stories tap into the writer’s significant industry knowledge, deep experience, and perspective. They can’t teach that at journalism school!
- Strata-gee does deeper research to give you more of the story. Look around the internet and you see tons of content. Most of it is not very fulfilling with stories of only around 300 words or so. But Strata-gee goes deeper in their research and gives you more of the story…sometimes telling you things that the subject of the story didn’t want us to say – but that we feel you need to know. Others report…we inform!
- Strata-gee delivers more balanced viewpoints and tough but fair posts…usually giving you both sides of the story. Readers often tell me that Strata-gee stories give them food-for-thought…not just company press release regurgitation.
Who is This Guy?
So who is this Ted Green guy, and why is he qualified to talk about business and marketing strategy? I’m glad you asked that question!
In a nutshell, I’ve been fortunate to experience management roles in companies representing many different parts of the Tech industry. Starting first as a professional musician, I’ve gone on to work at a mass merchant, a specialty retailer and early custom integrator, specialty manufacturer, a top 5, large volume audio manufacturer, and ran a national group of specialty A/V distributors.
This experience allows me to see issues and developments from a holistic and balanced perspective…which I bring to my stories.
So with that, I say WELCOME STRATA-GISTS! Look around and stay awhile. I think you’re going to like what you find here!
