On Monday, two well-known and highly regarded manufacturer sales representative firms in Northern California announced they were joining forces by combining their respective operations. Fielder Marketing, based in Reno, Nevada is acquiring Rich Jackson A/V, based in Alameda, California.
Learn why this is good news for dealers
Sometimes you hear about an acquisition and you scratch your head trying to figure out why it makes sense. But to me, this is a business combination that makes so much sense. First, by combining operations, each operation effectively doubles its manpower bringing greater resources to their dealer base. Second, they are philosophically very similar operations that carry top brands that they fully and knowledgeably support – both before and after the sale.
I’ve personally known Rich Jackson for many, many years and am very familiar with his capabilities. Rich is an award-winning rep that is a veritable wellspring of product/technology/industry knowledge and capability. He has a deep understanding of the inner workings of the gear itself, as well as a thorough grasp of the nuances of system design best practices.
I have less direct experience with Mark Fielder, but am well-acquainted with his reputation. Both of these organizations take a similar stylistic approach – with a strong emphasis on dealer support as the best path to product sell-through.
With this merger, we have assured that our factories and our dealers will all have solid support for the brands we have well represented over many years. I have known Mark Fielder for more than two

decades. His commitment to the dealers and manufacturers is in sync with my own, so I know that our
brands and customers will be better supported by this partnership. We sincerely believe we will create
the best and most focused rep agency in the markets we serve.
Again, this particular announcement makes a lot of sense to me. The combination of their respective line cards broadens the availability of top lines for all dealers throughout the region and the greater manpower only increases the support for these brands as well.
Rich has been my mentor since I started Fielder Marketing 10 years ago. I am very excited to build upon his foundation as we grow our combined firm.
