Learn more about the Hunter Douglas Solar Charger Kit
Let’s face it, Hunter Douglas knows how to handle the sun. As one of the most prominent brands of window treatments, such as shades, blinds, shutters, and drapery, it is quite expert in controlling how the sun impacts your home. And to add a new twist in its battle with the sun, they now harness the power of the sun – solar power – to keep its rechargeable motorized shades operational.
The company says it has designed its Solar Charger Kit to deliver restorative power even in suboptimal lighting conditions. With this being the case, Hunter Douglas says that most rechargeable PowerView shades connected to a Solar Charger will never require any form of manual charging. That is just an amazing increase of convenience for rechargeable shade users who usually have to periodically change batteries or recharge them via a manually connected wand or other such device.
Expanding Its Line of Sustainable Shading Solutions
Hunter Douglas is dedicated to creating solutions that blend convenience, comfort and sustainable design. The Solar Charger Kit embodies these principles by bringing waste-free and hassle-free solar charging to Powerview shades—even in spaces with limited sunlight. The charger will enhance the performance and longevity of our shades while significantly reducing maintenance requirements, making it nearly effortless to achieve reliable, eco-friendly shade automation.
Scott Stephenson, Hunter Douglas Senior Director of Product, Global Motorization
Hunter Douglas says its new Solar Charger Kit is compatible with its PowerView Automation rechargeable battery wands and is available with an adapter for compatibility with internal rechargeable battery shades. It comes with multiple mounting options and is said to be easy to integrate. Mounting options include direct-to-glass mounting which they say offers optimal solar harvesting. There are also snap-on brackets for easy installation and window jamb mounts with easy removal.
Multiple Mounting and Finish Solutions
The Solar Charging Kit comes in either white or black finishes facing the interior of the room, giving users options to better match their decor. It is the latest addition to the company’s growing portfolio of sustainable shade solutions.
