AudioControl announced last week that it was launching an all-new program called the Sound Partners Program. But this isn’t just a new program…it’s a unique concept in speaker/amplifier integration.
See how AudioControl’s Sound Partners Program works and why it’s unique…
AudioControl is a specialty electronics designer and assembler based in Washington state. The company addresses both the mobile electronics and residential AV channels, and has been a bit of a rising star in the custom integration channel.
Just when you thought you’ve seen it all when it comes to amplifier design, AudioControl engineers a new capability into their M-Series Amplifiers through their experience with high quality digital signal processing (DSP) circuitry. Working in partnership with top architectural loudspeaker brands, AudioControl offers integrators “the ultimate whole-house entertainment/commercial audio platform.”
How The Program Works
So how does the Sound Partners Program work? Participating speaker companies provide AudioControl engineers with “performance profiles” of their speaker lines, which is programmed and stored in the DSP circuitry of the Director M-Series amplifiers. These performance profiles consist of “critical performance measurements” with which AudioControl engineers can build detailed profiles in software form and then store them in DSP.
So far, four brands have opted into the program. These Sound Partners include: James Loudspeaker, Triad Speakers, Origin Acoustics, and Stealth Acoustics.
“With today’s superlative loudspeaker designs, we acknowledge that products from these brands would likely require little if any fine-tuning in an ideal environment,” said AudioControl CEO Alex Camara in a prepared statement. “However, when you factor in individual room acoustics for each home, these speaker profiles achieve an important step in providing the custom integrator the tools to deliver a premium entertainment experience by calibrating the systems for their clients. Together with the DSP capabilities in The Director M-Series amplifiers, AudioControl gives integrators the most efficient means to make that happen while differentiating themselves in a competitive market.”
Director M-Series Amplifiers
AudioControl’s Director M-Series amplifiers, such as the M6400 and M6800, possess full matrixing capability, allowing any of its 8 analog or two digital inputs to be routed to any zone. The digital outputs can be connected to digital inputs on additional M-Series amplifiers, offering maximum flexibility in system architecture and performance.
The company is launching two new M-Series models, including a 1U, 8-channel version – the M4800. All models offer 100-watts per channel (8Ω), DSP, and AudioControl sound quality. They are also compatible with many prevailing control systems, such as Crestron, Savant, and Control4.
