Is It You? The 25 Highest Rated CEOs in America

July 7, 2015 by Ted Leave a Comment

Image from Glassdoor websiteAs Rated by Their Employees

Glassdoor, the online jobs and careers site, released last month their latest annual Highest-Rated CEOs rankings based on votes by employees. Not only is the ranking based on employee votes – this is the only criterion used for the ranking. Employees are allowed to vote anonymously through the Glassdoor website and the voting process is held open for an entire year.

Who tops the list? Is tech represented? See the results below…

Glassdoor’s system allows employees to not only vote, but to leave comments of either approval or…sometimes even more entertainingly…disapproval. However, Glassdoor did not reveal any of the comments on individual CEOs in the press announcement of their results.

Tech was represented on the list, with fully 10 of the top 25 CEOs coming from tech-related companies. But, for the most part, we’re talking about the software side of the technology industry more than hardware. In fact, three of the top five CEOs – Larry Page of Google (#1, with a 97% approval rating), Mark Zuckerberg of Facebook (#4), and Scott Scherr of Ultimate Software (#5) – are software technology companies.

Apple CEO Tim Cook (a hardware AND software company), with a 94% employee approval rating, barely squeaked into the top 10, coming in at #10. The other top CEOs from tech include: Dara Khosrowshahi of Expedia (#11), Jeff Weiner of LinkedIn (#12), John Legere of T-Mobile (#14), Lyndon Rive of SolarCity (#20), Marc Benioff of Salesforce (#21), and finally, Jeremy Stoppelman of Yelp (#22).
