BREAKING NEWS
This morning, within just minutes of Crestron’s announcement, Lutron announced that they too have decided to withdraw from CEDIA Expo 2021. One of the top lighting control and systems providers to custom integrators, this announcement is likely to hit hard, as potential attendees weigh whether attending the show will be worth their time, and their added risk in the face of the rapid spread of the Delta variant of COVID-19.

Like many of the other exhibitors who have pulled out of the event, Lutron bemoaned the fact that this action was necessary. A top innovator, the company noted that they had been looking forward to share their latest new innovations “in person at CEDIA Expo this year.”
But the incredible rise of COVID-19’s Delta variant has caused Lutron to take pause and reassess. They did not, they assured their dealers in an email communication, come to this point without careful consideration. It was a decision that “doesn’t come lightly and was made in the best interest of our employees, our customers, and the broader CEDIA community.”
Here is the Lutron statement in its entirety:
Despite several months of preparation and planning, Lutron has made the difficult decision to withdraw from CEDIA Expo 2021. This decision doesn’t come lightly and was made in the best interest of our employees, our customers, and the broader CEDIA community. Like the companies that announced their plans earlier, we, too, are concerned by the uncertainties of the Delta variant and its potential impact to families and businesses.
Lutron has been a member of the CEDIA community for 30 years, and we were looking forward to introducing many new innovations in person at CEDIA Expo this year. Our commitment to our cutomers and the industry remains steadfast and we look forward to a time when we can all be together again.
We are working on plans to virtually share the latest Lutron innovations with our cusotmers in the coing months.”
