Carrollton, TX-based commercial solutions provider SAVI Controls and South Jordan, UT-based residential smart home-as-a-service (SHaaS) provider Oliver IQ announced today they were entering into a “strategic merger.” The merged entity will now be known as SAVI iQ and seeks to be the “first AI-driven, cloud-based automation and support platform for commercial and residential markets, engineered to accelerate growth for integrators and service providers.”

At first glance, this may seem like an odd coupling. SAVI Controls operates exclusively in the commercial systems space, and OliverIQ – which I first told you about in January 2024 – is a straight residential, smart home solutions play. SAVI Controls partners with a large network of commercial integrators around the country. OliverIQ was targeted at large-scale service providers, as I mentioned in my original story on their launch – “…think along the lines of companies like Verizon, ADT, Vivint, AT&T, Comcast, Dish Networks, Home Depot, Lowe’s, etc.”
However, the companies do share some common DNA…they both offer smart, simple, intuitive, easy-to-install and use systems that are uniquely scalable. And that ability to scale is important, as it opens up a wider world of potential clients for integrators in each of their respective business segments.
New Organization Sees Ample Cross-Over Opportunities
The new organization sees ample cross-over opportunities emerging from this merger. Commercial customers will benefit from new AI-powered cloud services for everything from bars and restaurants to casinos and sports stadiums. While [OliverIQ’s] ISPs and security partners can extend their services beyond residential subscribers to commercial customers.
We are thrilled to join forces with SAVI Controls. Thousands of dealers have built successful businesses with high-end solutions, serving just a fraction of the market. SAVI iQ changes that by delivering cutting-edge intelligent automation and affordable support for the great majority of homeowners seeking an automated lifestyle. Our technology also empowers thousands of businesses to operate more efficiently and provide better customer experiences.

Key Player on the Team: Ollie
A key element to the new SAVI iQ system is Ollie, its intelligent automation agent “that recognizes patterns, optimizes performance, and proactively resolves potential issues.” Ollie, the company says, reduces support calls and frees dealers and commercial integrators, Telcos and ISPs, builders, and others to focus on “delivering exceptional customer experiences while minimizing costs.”

Our solution harnesses AI and intuitive voice controls enabling our partners to scale operations and unlock recurring revenue opportunities. The cost of commercial AV systems and system design have been prohibitively high and overly complicated for decades. Together we are providing clients with the most advanced solutions and a recurring revenue service model that transforms their bottom line.
