BREAKING NEWS
Positioned on prime real estate in the front row of the convention hall, with power brands Sony on one side and Samsung on the other, Sound United says that their booth at next month’s CEDIA Expo in Indianapolis, IN, will remain empty. The company announced today that, like Savant and Snap One before them, they too have decided to pull out of the Expo over concerns about the spike in cases of the COVID Delta variant.

The situation is beginning to look serious for Emerald Expositions, the owner and producer of the CEDIA Expo, scheduled to run from September 1 – to – September 3, 2021 at the Indiana Convention Center in Indianapolis, IN. On Tuesday, Savant announced that it would pull out of the event due to concerns over the rapidly increasing rate of infections driven by the more virulent Delta variant of COVID-19.
Then on Thursday, another large exhibitor – Snap One – announced that they too were choosing to pass on the Expo. Like Savant, Snap One pointed to the deteriorating public health situation brought on by the rapidly spreading Delta variant.
Now, Sound United says they too have determined that given the circumstances, the prudent course of action is to take a pass on this year’s Expo. The company has been closely monitoring the situation and has noted a concerning deterioration with growing rates of infections and hospitalization. Their monitoring includes specifically health officials in Marion County, the county where Indianapolis is located.
…we have been closely monitoring the spread of the COVID-19 Delta variant and the recent spike in cases has caused us to re-evaluate the risks to our employees, dealers, and industry partners in attending major tradeshows and in-person events.
“Based on this, Sound United has made the difficult decision to no longer attend-CEDIA Expo 2021. Sound United will not have a booth presence, training or any employees present at the Show.”
