In a survey by the National Association of Business Economists, a strong majority of all businesses – fully 58% – reported that they raised the wages they paid to employees in the third quarter, as reported by AXIOS. Nearly the same number say they will raise wages yet again in the coming months. While the news has some positive elements, especially for workers (like the smiling employees above), it definitely has some economists worried.

ADP Jobs Report is a Shocker, Seen as a Red Flag
On Wednesday, the country’s largest payroll processor, ADP, announced that private-sector employers hired 27,000 people in May. This number was a dramatic reversal from their report on April hiring, which said employers added a remarkable 271,000 people. Many economists and market analysts expressed shock at the surprisingly low number.

Hon Hai Precision Industry Co., the Apple, Inc. primary supplier better know as Foxconn, has cut more than 50,000 jobs as the pain from the dramatic drop in iPhone sales is taking its toll on the company. Not only that, but the company has fallen short of hiring goals to which it previously committed to the State of Wisconsin – losing major tax credits for this year.
Worse yet, the outlook for the near future, doesn’t look to improve any time soon.
