Chicago-based Vanco International LLC, a maker and distributor of high-performance custom integration gear, announced today that it is launching the next generation of its popular EVO-IP HDMI-over-IP solution at the upcoming Integrated Systems Europe show running February 4-7 in Barcelona, Spain. This new system – called EVO-IP 2.0 – adds both new features and increasingly robust capabilities, including mind-blowing scalability.

Vanco adds more muscle to its popular EVO-IP line, with a new 2.0 version offering an expanded assortment of features, such as VLAN-free setup, fiber transmission capability, KVM support, independent routing for audio and control, eARC/ARC audio distribution, Dante Ready capabilities, and more.
The company asserts in a prepared statement that with this upgrade, “EVO-IP 2.0 is more powerful than ever before.”
Despite Stuffing It With More Capabilities, EVO-IP 2.0 Setup is Even Easier
The EVO-IP 2.0 system consists of three main components – the EVOIPCTL2 EVO-IP 2.0 Control Box, the EVOIPTX2 Transmitter, and the EVOIPRX2 Receiver. All of these components can be conveniently powered via either PoE (Power over Ethernet) or with an included power supply. The integrator can choose the best option based on their individual installation situation.
This new 2.0 version also takes scalability to new heights – a single EVOIPCTL2 Control Box can manage any size deployment – including ones topping 1,000 endpoints! Yet despite this mind-blowing scalability and system complexity – setup is a breeze. The system automatically detects connected sources and sinks and the integrator can complete the setup and manage all devices via a simple GUI (graphic user interface). Vanco says that, in addition to the original version’s tile-based interface, version 2.0 adds a drop-down option, enabling a “single-pane-of-glass management for larger video networks.”
Dual Networks Isolate AV and Enterprise Networks
Network managers will really appreciate the fact that the next generation EVO-IP 2.0’s dual network interfaces isolate AV networks and enterprise networks, enabling reliable transmission over standard LAN networks without the need for additional VLAN setup. This means that AV pros can use standard network switches and a common LAN to connect all devices in a 2.0 generation network.
AV pros have always loved EVO-IP’s flexibility and ease of use, and EVO-IP 2.0 takes those features to a whole new level. Installers will love the painless setup; network managers will love the automated traffic isolation; and everyone will love how easy it is to deliver streaming content, immersive audio, and KVM alongside stunning, lossless video.

Quality Maintained While Features Were Added
None of the added features mentioned above came at the expense of quality. The company says that EVO-IP 2.0 offers 4:4:4 4K video @60Hz, support for HDR and HDCP 2.2, and downscaling to 720p.
This new 2.0 generation supports immersive audio and routing including eARC/ARC, and features optical and S/PDIF audio breakouts. The system also comes with Dante Ready chipsets, allowing integrators to purchase and add additional audio channels…even after installation.
Support for Videowall and Digital Signage Applications
EVO-IP 2.0 has built-in support for videowall and digital signage applications. This includes support for videowall configurations of up to 25 displays, while the OSD mode allows users to upload and display logos, text, or photos as either an overlay or digital signage content.
Finally, integrators can manage, control, and troubleshoot connected devices remotely via a cloud-based interface. The company says users can turn individual devices or the entire system on and off with a single command. They can also schedule events, manage videowall configurations and digital signage content, and more.
Vanco notes that the EVO-IP 2.0 is compatible with all major third-party control systems, but none are required, “…making this a uniquely simple and affordable networked AV distribution solution.”
