Industry consulting and coaching company Vital, formerly Vital Management, announced this week that it has hired Lawrence Davis as its new VP of Business Development. Davis is well-known throughout the industry as he has worked with some of the top brands in a variety of roles.
Davis’ most recent role was as VP of Supplier Relations for Portal, a position he held during the formative years of the then-start-up company. Prior to that, he was VP of Sales and Marketing for Atlantic Technology.
In Davis’ career, which spans 40-years, he also did stints at Artison (VP Sales), Monster Cable (National Sales Manager), and Bang & Olufsen America (VP Retail Development). A virtual fixture at trade shows, the affable Davis has a wide network of friends throughout the industry.
I’m excited to be part of the VITAL Team. I’ve devoted most of my career to helping dealers grow, profit, and prosper, and that’s what the VITAL Method does. I’m looking forward to spreading the benefits of VITAL to a much broader segment of the CI channel, both dealers and manufacturers alike.”

First launched as Vital Management, a two-man operation created by Paul Starkey and Steve Firszt, the company coaches custom integrators on ways to improve their operations for greater profit and success. Starkey and Firszt eventually went on to create Bravas, a collection of fifteen of these integrators in a roll-up that was ultimately acquired by Presidio Investors in 2019 for $75 million.
Earlier this year in August³, Jeremy Burkhardt (Origin Acoustics founder) and Matt Bernath (a two-year company employee and former integrator)² led a partnership (with two other silent partners)¹ to acquire the company from the original founders and rebranded it as simply Vital. The company says its VITAL Method of process, practices, and people deployment methods has made “a huge impact on over 400 CI companies.”
